April16, 2010 - Gartner names Ontology Systems as one of the "Cool Vendors in Telecom Operations Management Systems, 2010" in an influential industry report that includes Ontology as one of only four vendors on the 2010 list.

One of the report's authors, Kamlesh Bhatia, Principal Research Analyst, noted:

"Among the major advantages of using OSS/CAD are:

  • Reduction in upfront costs associated with integrating fragmented sources of data …
  • Ability to achieve one view of the customer …
  • Reduction in time-to-market…"

Report Synopsis

Innovative vendors can help communications service providers address current and future priorities (such as cost optimization, revenue generation and streamlining back-office processes), improve time-to-market and achieve technology innovation.

Gartner's definition of a cool vendor is a small company offering a technology or product that is:

  • Innovative - It enables users to do things they couldn't do before
  • Impactful - It has or will have a business impact; it's not just "technology for the sake of technology"
  • Intriguing - It has caught our interest or curiosity during the past six months or so.
