Benedict founded Ontology Systems in 2005 after developing the initial concept. He is now leading the company's growth and seeking to establish Ontology as the pre-eminent innovator of semantic solutions in the data center and networking marketplace.
Benedict was CTO and Vice President of Product Management at Corvil networks which he joined in March 2003. Corvil created products focussed on essential IP bandwidth estimation using novel mathematical discoveries.
Benedict was CTO and Head of Product Management at Orchestream (now Oracle). He joined Orchestream in the early start-up phase and remained with the company through it's successful IPO and subsequent acquisition by Metasolv. During this period Orchestream's Service Activator (OSA) product became the leading multivendor QoS policy and VPN service provisioning system.
Prior to Orchestream, Benedict was at Newbridge Networks (now Alcatel), where he was involved in the development of the class leading 46020 network manager.
Benedict started at Atlantis Scientific, a Canadian technology company that developed specialized applications for communications, propagation, and remote sensing applications.
Benedict has a Bachelors of Engineering Physics degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Masters of Applied Science from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies.
